WILL MY HEALTH INSURANCE COVER DIETITIAN SERVICES?
Many insurance plans cover nutrition counseling with a dietitian. See the "Checking Insurance Benefits" page below to find out if your plan offers coverage. If not, we offer self-pay and sliding scale options as well.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DOES NOURISHED NUTRITION THERAPY TAKE?
We are able to submit to insurance companies BCBS, Cigna, Community Health Choice, UHC, Sana, and Superior Health- we are able to provide a Superbill for any other insurance company. We take all types of credit cards and HSA/FSA cards as well.
WHAT IS A DIETITIAN?
A registered dietitian is a health professional that specializes in medical nutrition therapy. They are required to receive a Bachelors degree in dietetics, and then complete a minimum 1,200 hour dietetic internship. After the minimum requirements are met, they are eligible to sit for the Registered Dietitian exam, and become registered. Licensure is required in most states and an application for state licensure will be completed after passing the registration exam. Continuing education is required over a 5 year period, every 5 years while the dietitian is practicing.
